incorrect reporting of 'user ports up'

Post by dogs1005 »

Hi there,
I have mactrack installed and running ok.
The issue I have is that the 'user ports up' field is showing more than the actual 'user ports'.
This seems to be in line with the 'active macs' field as shown int the attached image.

Has anyone seen this before and if so how is it easily fixed?

On your device, are you importing VLAN interfaces, Port-Channels, Tunnels etc..? Those will register as interfaces "UP".

Thanks for replying jim :)
In the device tracking settings I have (Vlan|Loopback|Null) set to ports ignore and only have 1 vlan configured.
I have noticed that when another mac address is seen on the trunk ports, the 'active macs' will increase but so will the 'user ports up' in line with active macs.
So looks to me that it is looking at the wrong variable?

Yeah, that behavior has existed for quite some time with the trunks. Time to dust off the PHP skills :)
