[solved] snmpwalk: no response from remote host

Post by shahrior »

Hi,
I am facing some problem to get the response from remote host while working with snmp for cacti configuration.

I have mentioned the information below for your reference.
Server: centOS 6.5
remote snmp host: windows 7

snmpd.conf:
===============
com2sec local localhost public
com2sec lan 192.168.0.0/21 public

group MyRWGroup v1 local
group MyRWGroup v2c local
group MyRWGroup usm local
group MyROGroup v1 lan
group MyROGroup v2c lan
group MyROGroup usm lan

view all included .1

access MyROGroup "" any noauth exact all none none
access MyRWGroup "" any noauth exact all all none

syslocation srvroom , linux monitor
syscontact me (me@gmail.com)
===============================
Cacti Server: SELINUX=disabled
No firewall between the server and host.

Remote Host :
================
OS: Windows 7
snmp service enabled.

I can get data from localhost but not from remote host. I am sorry to say I am newbie.

I will be grateful if anyone help ! :)

You certainly don't give much detail on the remote host. Its Windows, so did you ensure that its firewall is disabled?
Did you check the Security tab of the SNMP Service to ensure that
"Accept SNMP packets from any hosts"
is set.
