Tutorial Appreciated: Syslog Alerting, Removal Functions etc

I finally got my syslog up and running but would like to take advantage of the reporting and alarm features in cacti. If anyone has any tutorials that'd be great. I'm more of a visual learner so pictures are appreciated Thanks guys.
