Cacti Distributed Poller

Post by wraythezw »

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the forum.. Just a brief intro, I work for a local ITSP. I've got a situation where i have to monitor multiple networks with similar ranges, but require a central Cacti install for the monitoring&management.

Is it possible to modify cacti to use remote agents at each customer (customers sometimes have overlapping networks), which log back to a central cacti system?
Any ideas on how best to implement this?

All networks managed by my team are cisco based. Mainly G2 routers.

One option that i came up with was Syslog, Logstash & Elasticsearch. For the up/down/threshold notifications that's great, but it doesn't give me access to the SNMP indexes on the routers/firewalls.

I need to monitor throughput, ICMP response times, etc
