Waiting for table metadata lock

We are migrating CACTI application from Mysql 5.1 to Mysql 5.6 on RHEL5. After migration to Mysql 5.6, application seems to be hanged immediately after startup. We see below info for the session,

LOCK TABLES graph_tree_items WRITE, graph_tree READ, graph_templates_graph READ, host READ

Please help at the earliest on resolution of the issue. Thanks in advance...
