CereusReporting - PDF Reports - 4.00 for Cacti 1.x out soon!

Hello everybody:

First of all, I apologize because my English level is not very good.

I have installed CereusReporting_Express_v2.80.81 (linux 64) for my cacti 0.8.8b without any problems following the steps in the Quick Installation Guide (Express Edition). I have chosen the mpdf engine report.

The problem is the next:

When I generate a preview report from a configure one, i can´t see the graphics. Instead it appears a image showing preview (attached file). I have noticed that each time I click on preview report, a new directory is created at /CereusReporting/tmp:

Inside any of these directories there is a file called workerfile that contains something like this (for a single report):

If I execute create_image.php manually (create_image.php 190 0 97148293485 210753320685 120 500 > test.png),
the image is generated correctly, so I suppose that there is a problem when mpdf tries to create the image with
tmp/1404458649-4-97148293485-210753320685/190-97148293485 210753320685.png@COPAL_trafico_LIG_01@1@tmp/1404458649-4-97148293485-210753320685/190-97148293485-210753320685.png@190.

I have changed the permissions to the tmp directory(777), but no luck.
Any ideas??

Hi

It's a "preview report" which doesn't create the graphs. It's for checking the layout only. If you want to generate the report itself, go to:

Console -> Utilities -> User Management

Edit your user and remove the following Realm Permissions from it: "NMID - View Archived Reports"

Then click on the "Cereus" tab at the top. This will get you to a page where you generate the actual report.

EDIT : Got it , I think it was about some permissions, the graphs were filled with "error opening http:..../tmp/xxxx.png
EDI2 : Or not ....still got some permissions problem. If I go to "Cereus" tab and generate the report from there, its working properly , but if I go to Manage Reports--> click on report create then "preview report", it will save a pdf file with the following error : "Error opening the file : tmp/...../xxxx.png.
I have this permission on the tmp folder :

Yes, that's the one.

Switch over to the MPDF engine, the FPDF one has a small issue which actually may cause this.

Then, enable debug mode ( Console -> Settings -> NMID ) and look at the log file within that tmp directory. It should contain quite some status information.

Ummm...this is killing me , now I'm getting tons of errors in /var/log/httpd/error.log. It has to do something with permissions, but I tried like everything I can think of. Tried chown -R cacti.cacti , cacti.apache, even chmod 777 on CereusReporting/tmp and ReportEngine/tmp/.

These can cause issues. Are you sure you have the correct Ioncube loader loaded for PHP 5.3 ?

The tmp dir needs to be writeable by the cacti poller user AND the webserver. The later one creates files in there when clicking on the PDF icon of the graph view page.

That error is on a different server, tried installing 2 times on 2 different server. I had one working(partially), and now it isnt at all, cause I played with permissions. Think is I dont know what permissions to set.

I tried even creating a group(www-data), added both users to the group(cacti, apache) and set permission to chown -R cacti.www-data on CereusReporting.

When I hit the "Create" under Cereus tab, nothing happens(it should pop-up a pdf saving file).

Did you check on the ioncube issue ? Ignore the issues being caused by the logger.php file, it's harmless and doesn't interfere with the PDF creation.

I tried changing to another .png, tried chown that file to cacti user, web user, web group.

But...no pdf file created . Whats annoying is that yesterday it worked(only the "preview report" was saving a pdf file with error opening .../tmp...) and the only thing I changed was permissions on folders

Next, become the cacti user (under which the poller runs) and execute the following:

Then send me that workerfile ( support@urban-software.de ). Also check the images in that directory ( open with notepad if they are NOT images ). They may contain an error message.


Also check your php.ini file. Is the memory limit set to >128M and execution time >=120 ?
