I'm seeing it as well in 0.8.8b.

Also seeing this on 0.8.8b running

UPDATE host SET status_fail_date = '2014-08-10 00:00:00';

Resolves the issue but it must be ran after addition of each new host.

Changes to functions.php or host.php did not have any effect.
