Post by nokhao »

once in a while, not all the time, RRD's stoped updating. It might be similar to th case posted by skaminski, but i really don't know what was the solution. i believe somthings to do with poller cache. here is my error log that seems to cause the problem:

02/13/2005 11:15:03 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: Either there are no items in the cache or polling is disabled
02/13/2005 11:14:58 AM - POLLER: Poller[0] Maximum runtime of 296 seconds exceeded. Exiting.
02/13/2005 11:10:04 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: Either there are no items in the cache or polling is disabled
02/13/2005 11:05:08 AM - SYSTEM STATS: Time: 6.5902 s, Method: cmd.php, Processes: 50, Threads: N/A, Hosts: 4, Hosts/Process: 1
02/13/2005 11:05:04 AM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: Either there are no items in the cache or polling is disabled

Look at your processes, they are way too high. Make the value 2 times your number of processors and not much higher. This will likely fix your problem.
