I am wondering if anyone can tell me how to get Cacti to work with AES on linux. I'm able to do a command-line snmpget successfully using v3 but I can't get Cacti to work. I've seen posts about removing/disabling php-snmp but that doesn't seem to help me. I've tried with both spine and cmd.php.
Any pointers?
Thanks!

Re: SNMP v3 aes troubles
Hallo waterboy,
short answer is - yes, I got it to work.
But I also have some issues with v3.
First lets check what are the differences between your config and mine.
SNMP Options section:
================
SNMP Version: Version 3
SNMP Username: UseYourName (case sensitive)
SNMP Password: the string you used after -A in your snmp-get command (I assume you are using a linux cli)
SNMP Auth Protocol: I use MD5 at this point
SNMP Privacy Passphrase: the string you used after -X in your snmp-get command
SNMP Privacy Protocol: AES (of course )
SNMP Context: empty in my case
SNMP Port: 161
SNMP Timeout: 3000 ( so high because of my issues)
Maximum OID's Per Get Request: 20
Kind Regards
Werner

Re: SNMP v3 aes troubles
Thanks for the reply. As it turns out, I am able to make this work correctly on a different instance of Cacti that I have running. I had to remove the "SNMP Context" entry that I made. Once I did that, everything is good.
I need to go back now to my other Cacti instance to make sure the fix is that simple.
Thanks again.
