My syslogs have been blank after upgrading CactiEZ install from .8.7 c to .8.7 g. I checked the plugin_camm_syslog tables in the cacti database and they are empty. Syslog plugin does not work either. Should I have to change anything after upgrading?

Hi Thanks for the super plugin.

I've almost got it working only everything ends up in either the "Syslogs" tab or in the "Unknown Traps" tab.

How do we get the traps in the "SNMP Traps" tab?

Thanks in advance,

Use "snmpttconvertmib" from snmptt to convert your MIB. Change your snmptt.ini at Section [TrapFiles] and point to the converted MIB.

Hi Thanks for your quick reply.
When i try to convert the mib I get the following output:
  • ***** Processing MIB file *****

    snmptranslate version: NET-SNMP version: 5.5
    severity: Normal

    File to load is: /root/sub10e1000.mib
    File to APPEND TO: /etc/snmp/snmptt.conf

    MIBS environment var: /root/sub10e1000.mib
    mib name: SUB10-MIB

    Processing MIB: SUB10-MIB

    Done

    Total translations: 0
    Successful translations: 0
    Failed translations: 0

The MIB file did not contain any TRAP-TYPE or NOTIFICATION-TYPE definitions,
so no translations occured. Try another MIB file.
I've attached the mib file.
Can you give me any advice how to convert this?

Thanks in advance

Do you have another MIB file with trap or notification-types?

Hi,

I've tried some from Cisco and they give a positive feedback:
  • [root@MIT-MO-01 snmptt_1.4]# ./snmpttconvertmib --in=/usr/share/snmp/mibs/CISCO-SYSLOG-MIB-V1SMI.my --out=/etc/snmp/snmptt.conf

    MIBS environment var: /usr/share/snmp/mibs/CISCO-SYSLOG-MIB-V1SMI.my

Is there any way of rescanning the unknown traps?

Thanks in advance

I also am having an issue with just a blank page on the CAMM Tab. Database tables exist, plug in is installed, not seeing any errors in the httpd logs or CACTI Logs.

Did anyone get a resolution on this? This is the only missing part of my CACTI system is SNMP Trap handling.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi, looks like U must turn off CSRF check.
In cacti/site/include/csrf/csrf_magic.php put $GLOBALS['csrf']['defer'] = true;

I had the same problem only with 0.8.8c (with 0.8.8a all is ok) and with your tricks I solved!

Thank you

Hello,

I'm running cacti 0.8.7.e on rhel5 and I have to move it to a new rhel6 server. Thing is I didn't install it myself and it's absolutely not documented...

Basically I have installed everything the way it was on the old server, configured snmptt to store received traps in a mysql db. So far it works okayish.

My concerns are about the camm plugin. I can see the expected traps under the "SNMP Traps" tab as well as the already existing rules in the "Rules" tab. The problem is that I can't update a rule, once I clic on save it just doesn't work and resets to the previous values...

It's weird because I can clone a rule and then save, the clone is stored...

Any help would be more than welcomed...

Thanks

Well apparently there have been some changes in the DB structure, now the problem is solved.

What still bugs me is that :
- even if my user is set as an admin and I can manage rules, I don't have the possibility to duplicate a rule (button not present)
- I can't put multiple mail addresses in the email field of a rule. Neither "," nor ";" are allowed...

Any idea ?

I need help for installation. I am trying to use camm with snmptt only. After installation I didn't see any unknown traps or any traps at all. In /var/log/messages I found snmttrapd messages about receiving trap, but snmptt

Now I have fixed this installation issue. I used two many options in net-snmp (snmptrap) compilation. When I did according instruction at wiki net snmp it is start working. Now it is left to solve description of snmp traps, bit it is other story.

Hi gthe,
is it possible also to add a field "description" into global search?
