link between nodes remain 0.00%

Post by san500 »

Hello,

I run Cacti 0.8.8a Weathermap 0.97c. on Debian 7 (Wheezy)

whenever i try to connect nodes nothing happens. it remains 0.00%.

Read the docs of weathermap. i think i have done it how it is explained in the document. (I think :) )

Thanks

Please post the config for one of your links... this isn't enough information to help.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

OK, so

Code: Select all

LINK node01142-node01278
	INFOURL /cacti/graph.php?rra_id=all&local_graph_id=52
	OVERLIBGRAPH /cacti/graph_image.php?local_graph_id=52&rra_id=0&graph_nolegend=true&graph_height=100&graph_width=300
	TARGET /var/lib/cacti/rra/switch_pk01_traffic_in_55.rrd
	NODES node01142 node01278
looks correct. Please check in cacti.log to see if you get any WEATHERMAP error lines.

I would rename the background image so it doesn't contain spaces, too (and update the BACKGROUND line at the top of the file). I don't think it is a problem here, but spaces in filenames do cause problems with weathermap.

I don't know if it is just my download (I don't think it is), but the nodes named DK* have POSITION on the end of the TARGET line instead of a separate line. That means those nodes won't show up properly.

I checked the cacti.log.

This message is displayed occasionaly.

06/01/2014 07:10:03 AM - WEATHERMAP: Poller[0] WARNING: Output directory (/usr/local/share/cacti/plugins/weathermap/output) isn't writable (tried to create '/usr/local/share/cacti/plugins/weathermap/output/weathermap.permissions.test'). No maps created. You probably need to make it writable by the poller process (like you did with the RRA directory) [WMPOLL06]

Must i give the map

Code: Select all

/usr/local/share/cacti/plugins/weathermap/output
755 permission?

755 works if it is owned by the user that runs the cacti poller, yes.

I fixed that error in the log, i forgot a few steppes because i didnt read the docs completely.
(Reinstalled it completely and on a vmware player to test)
But the links are still 0,00%.

I turned on the cacti.log DEBUG mode, no errors or warnings. (i think)
