Another "Mail Alerts Not Working" Post
I've read through a bunch of posts here from people that are having troubles receiving thold alerts from their system but nothing has helped me. I'm using Cacti 0.8.8b, PHP 5.3.3, and thold 0.5. I am using SMTP to send mail and when I do the test I receive it fine. When I go to the log tab from the Thold tab, I see a bunch of stuff there so the plugin does appear to be working. I'm not sure where else to check. I'd appreciate any assistance.
Thanks!

Re: Another "Mail Alerts Not Working" Post
My Cacti is installed on CentOS 6.5. I shouldn't have to worry about configuring any mail stuff on the Linux box at all, right? I would think that it's just connecting to my mail server and sending all the mail out from there, right?

Re: Another "Mail Alerts Not Working" Post
Hello. Anyone willing to help out a Cacti user that's down on his luck?
Re: Another "Mail Alerts Not Working" Post
Turn on Threshold debug, and it should log some extra info in the Cacti log.

Re: Another "Mail Alerts Not Working" Post
OK, I turned on debug. My thold log has a little over 18,000 entries but I don't see anything about dead/down hosts, just "Baseline Deviation" and "High/Low". I never got e-mail alerts for any of them. Does it usually log when an e-mail is sent? I don't see anything in there about sending e-mails.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: Another "Mail Alerts Not Working" Post
In my Cacti log, I see stuff like this periodically:
I believe this shows that e-mails are indeed being sent, correct? I am never getting them, however. I have checked my spam folder and all of the usual suspects but I can't find anything. ANy idea where I should check next? Your assistant is very much appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Another "Mail Alerts Not Working" Post
That is just showing that it is polling, and you were modifying some alerts. Can you check your logs on your SMTP server to ensure it is receiving them properly?
