Cacti 0.8.8b graph error

Post by idmbse »

Dear Sir,

I would like to some question regarding capacity of Cacti utility, terms of number of interface and host to be added in cacti.
Currently I am useing cacti 0.8.8b version, I face issue after 200 interface added in utility. The interface graph is not properly ploted as well as change inbound and outbound style of graph ploting.

Basically We have huge amount of network devices with interface approx 2000 devices (switch, router, firewall) and 50000 interfaces. so please suggest the for same.

Please provide more information. What you ask is akin to going to the doctor and just telling him you don't feel well and expecting him to figure out what is wrong with no information.

Log entires (how long is the poller taking to run, any errors?)
Poller Interval, Cron Interval, Spine or cmd.php? Num Processes & threads?
OS? What hardware (cpus/mem)? Any info about Disk IO?
Physical machine or VM?
This is just the start of the basic info that is needed to begin to guess what the problem might be.

FYI, How many hosts you can run mostly depends on your hardware, network latency, and what/how you are polling.

It appears that you have duplicate cron jobs scheduled. You shouldn't have multiple SYSTEM STAT entires within the same 5 minute window. Make sure the poller.php isn't being launched by another user also.

Also, you can speed up polling by increasing the number of cmd.php processes you have running. Check in Settings >> Poller.

Dear Sir,

I was check the cron job as per your suggestion. It is giving proper time sync out put.
For polling we are using cmd.php so I try to install spine, it give the following error.

Please suggest the C complier version which is compatible for spine

I still think you have a cron issue. If you look at your log, every 5 minutes you have 2 entries for SYSTEM STATS, when there should only be one. Most likely you have a cron job scheduled under root and another account (like cactiuser or cacti).

Dear Sir,
I check the server only one crontab for cacti.
Please suggest for spine installation issue, which C package is required for same.

I told you what I believe the issue is. That is all the advise I can offer without any more details. I don't think switching to spine is going to fix your problem. With it posting the system stats twice, it is definitely 2 pollers running. I would try disabling the crontab that you found, and watch the log and see if the poller still runs anyways.
