Adding New Devices Sending Alerts

Hello Folks,

Threshold plugin sending alerts for new devices as well " Device return back from down state". Every time we add new device we see one alert for the device.
Is there any setting or way i can stop alerts for new devices.

Settings >> Poller >> Failure Count
set to?

Thanks for your reply.

I don't see any problem with the normal operation as we are getting correct alerts when device goes down and came back up.
Only problem we are experiencing is when we are adding new devices.

Ya, normally you only see that when the failure / recovery counts are set to 1. I will have to look and see what is causing it.

Alternatively, when you first create the device you could set the down host detection on the device to none. Wait for it to poll the first time then enable it. That may do the trick, or it may just delay the problem, I haven't tested it (since it doesn't happen to me).

Thanks i appreciate your suggestion and help on this issue.
Same thing i am doing now. I am disabling the thold email notification until host is successfully polled and then re enable the notification but sometimes I missed to enable them and never see those alerts when they actually goes down. That why i am seeking some expert advices on this.
