site error

Post by gondo »

I had this issue running cacti under RHEL AS. The configuration of mysql, usually /etc/my.cnf and in the /etc/init.d/mysqld startup, and where cacti is looking for the unix socket to connect to, defined in the file referenced in your e-mail are not matching up.

At first I found the actual socket and created a symbolic link (ln -s {location where socket is} {location cacti is looking for}) but that is not the real fix. The fix is to modify the above files or build configuration and make them agree.

Hope this helps
