Autom8 hook for field change

Is there a way to trigger Autom8 to run based on a table field change? One of the well documented use cases for autom8 is creating switch port graphs that are in the UP status when creating the device. What I'm interested in is if someone later, after the device is made plugs into an unused port, having the graphs created automatically once the table reflects reflects the up status. This doesn't satisfy the normal autom8 triggers since you're not creating a new device, performing one of the CLI scripts, or re-indexing. Since it's a switch, the indexes exist from the beginning and don't include the status of the port. Setting up a cron job to invoke a CLI script might be an option, but none of the CLI scripts are applicable to just running autom8 rules.
