HI,
I am using rsyslog (have tried with syslog-ng as well, same result).
I can get a bunch of remote network syslog coming into the server (cent os).
I have it going into the syslog database.
However cacti never sees anything.
I am a bit confused about the config.php file
in it, you have to configure the actual main cacti db otherwise cacti fails to load.
if I replace it with all the examples for use_cacti_db=false, and then specify the syslogdb info, well, cacti does not work anymore
reverting back to just having the cacti db info in the config.php works fine
does anyone have an example of config.php where they have one section of code for the cacti db, and one section working for the second syslog db?
I don't want them sharing the same db.
db working, syslog working, cacti not seeing the logs for whatever reason.
also, does a cron job need to be setup to parse the db every so often with the syslog_process.php file?
I am stumped yet so close to getting it working :S
Thanks

Re: syslog plugin-working into the db but cacti sees nothing
i got all the config fixed up on config.php inside syslog folder, in addition to the normal global config.php
data in db...been 20 minutes, it's set to poll every 5 min, still nothing :S
