Problem with ICMP/TCP

Post by ether9 »

So I'm new to cacti, I've just finished installing it(using windows 7 x86, php 5.3.17,apache 2.2,mysql 5.5, ).
I've installed the auto discovery plugin.

after configuring it in settings-> misc (tried first with icmp, so every router in the network would have support).

after running the php findhosts.php -f -d

I get "does not respond to ping" on every single try and after i switch to TCP it says "responded to ping" on every try, even though i know lots of those "discoveries" don't actually exist(i.e.: 10.0.0.1 exists and it points out so, but 10.0.0.30 doesn't and it also points that it does) .

thanks in advance!

P.S.: when I ping on CMD the hosts i know that exist, everything is fine.

sounds like a plugin specific issue, moving forums.

Win 2008 and newer requires 'root' access for raw sockets, which Cacti appears to use for pinging. make sure the cacti task runs with admin credentials and 'highest privileges'. Disabling UAC solves some of this issue.
