collecting and graphing TED5000 energy usage

Post by Juggler »

I found the following site (http://www.manteuffel.us/KB/Wiki%20Page ... Cacti.aspx) that details how to poll the TED5000 (http://www.theenergydetective.com) for power, cost and voltage readings. I followed the steps very carefully, but for whatever reason cannot seem to get Cacti to work with the data.

Taking a look in the cacti.log, I do see the following:

Code: Select all

03/02/2014 01:30:03 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[11] DS[68] CMD: /usr/share/cacti/site/scripts/TED5000.sh ted5000.lan 0, output: POWER:5.508 COST:0.72 VOLTAGE:121.8
03/02/2014 01:30:03 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] Parsed MULTI output field 'POWER:5.508' [map POWER->Power]
03/02/2014 01:30:03 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] Parsed MULTI output field 'VOLTAGE:121.8' [map VOLTAGE->Voltage]
03/02/2014 01:30:03 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] CACTI2RRD: /usr/bin/rrdtool update /var/lib/cacti/rra/ted_5000_cost_68.rrd --template Power:Voltage 1393785002:5.508:121.8
03/02/2014 01:30:04 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[11] DS[67] CMD: /usr/share/cacti/site/scripts/TED5000.sh ted5000.lan 0, output: POWER:5.508 COST:0.72 VOLTAGE:121.8
03/02/2014 01:30:04 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Time: 2.1767 s, Theads: N/A, Hosts: 4
03/02/2014 01:30:04 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] Parsed MULTI output field 'POWER:5.508' [map POWER->Power]
03/02/2014 01:30:04 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] Parsed MULTI output field 'VOLTAGE:121.8' [map VOLTAGE->Voltage]
03/02/2014 01:30:04 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] CACTI2RRD: /usr/bin/rrdtool update /var/lib/cacti/rra/ted_5000_cost_67.rrd --template Power:Voltage 1393785002:5.508:121.8
However, when I look at the rrd files, they never seem to change size. I have to admit a limited knowledge of the workings of Cacti/rrd_tool, but was hoping someone could point me to possible avenues of debugging.

many thanks,
J.
