Hi, I'm attempting to implement this script, and I think I've almost got it, but I'm getting the following error in my poller-error.log:

Code: Select all

/home/cactiuser/dnsResponseTimeLoop.pl: Not enough arguments.

Usage:
            dnsResponseTime.pl -h host -s server -r -v -i interval -d delay -t timeout]

            ./dnsResponseTime.pl -h www.icrc.org -s 129.132.98.12 -v -r -t 5 -i 300

            host: host to be resolved
            server: DNS servers to ask
recursive: recursive query (default 0 iterative , e.g. all or nothing)
            verbose: debug output
interval: time interval during which to query repeatedly (default 60)
delay: delay between quweries in seconds (default 0s)
timeout: timeout in seconds (default 10s)
The cacti.log shows that the command line being executed is:

Code: Select all

perl /home/cactiuser/dnsResponseTimeLoop.pl -s my.dns.server -h www.google.com -t 9 -i 300 -r -d 10
If I copy and paste that to my command line, it seems to work fine. Can anyone help?

I have a strange behaviour of the template with graphics. In some point in time I get negative DNS Response time. Is there any way to fix it ?

This last template works for me, with the exception of the -i flag. If I put in anything <= 60 for -i, then I get a few 'Use of uninitialized value in addition' messages. I simply changed it to -i 120 and I'm getting graphs. With the original xml template, the command seemed to run but no graphs were created.

Hi All,

I have a cacti 0.8.8b installation and This template is giving me a hard time to start graphing. If I add a device with a different template it graphs normally.. The strange thing is that the realtime plugin shows data and graphs normally with this template.

What can be the problem ? The Graph is not even being generated..

Apart from this what permissions should scripts have ?

Regards
Andrew Paul
