Cacti Graphs Shows Wrong Reports Except Daily Report.

Hello,

I have installed cacti one month back. When i see the daily, last 2 hour, last day and last week reports , i am able to see the correct graph. But when i am trying to fetch the last 2 weeks , last month and above reports , the graphs is incorrect.


eq: the graphs show the utilization above 8 MBps for daily and last week reports and when i see the graphs for last month , the same utilization shows 6 Mbps.

Please Help !!!

You should try to understand how averaging in rrdtool works. What you see is normal behaviour of the rrdtool:

now it also depends on what you want and how you configure the tool, e.g keeping more daily values (which in return increases the size of rrd files)

Thanks for the great information.

But if i want to keep a record of exact bandwidth data of utilization for a day to couple of years ( No Average ) . How much space it will required . and will there be a performance issue?

Can anybody please help me with the setting for no average graph in cacti for daily , weekly, monthly and yearly.
