Newbieness

Post by jordelver »

Hi,
Please excuse my newbieness. I have installed cacti and everthing is cool for certain graphs. I have hdd space on the local machine and interfaces being monitored on my firewall etc. However, I am trying to monitor the various temps within my local Linux system. I have gkrellm installed which monitors CPU, System (Case) and HDD temps, so i can get the values. I don't have lm-sensors installed as I am using the in-built drivers in the kernel. So, the sensors program is not installed either.

How can I go about monitoring these items in cacti? I don't need snmp installed for this do I, as it is the same machine the cacti is running on?

Thanks for any help.
Cheers,
Jord
