RouterConfigs issue

Post by villieb »

Afternoon

I'm using routerconfigs on one of my cacti installs (only 5 routers). 4 of the 5 routers don't seem to be backing up.

I've set logging to debug - but can't see any error messages to state why these devices are not backing up. I made a change to all of the routers (simple interface description change) and tried to manually run the backup but still no new backup config.

I'm using the same login credentials for all the devices and I've checked that I can TFTP from the router to the server.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

I've run the backup jobs with logging set to debug and the output is in the two files below.

CORT-rtr.log is a device that ISN'T being backed up
CENTRAL-rtr.log is a device that IS being backed up

Both use the same login credentials, however the folders that the configs are copied to are different...

Code: Select all

drwxr-xr-x. 2 apache apache 4096 Dec 20 13:09 CENTRAL-RTR
drwxr-xr-x. 2 apache apache 4096 Dec 2 15:46 CORT-RTR
Both folders have the same permissions

I've checked that the router can actually copy its configuration to the TFTP server - both can. But when specifying the directory I get an undefined error...

Code: Select all

cort-rtr#copy run tftp
Address or name of remote host []? 172.16.12.4
Destination filename [cort-rtr-config]?CORT-RTR/cort-rtr-config

%Error opening tftp://172.16.12.4/CORT-RTR/cort-rtr-config (Undefined error)

Code: Select all

central-rtr#copy run tftp
Address or name of remote host []? 172.16.12.4
Destination filename [cort-rtr-config]?CENTRAL-RTR/central-rtr-config

%Error opening tftp://172.16.12.4/CENTRAL-RTR/central-rtr-config (Undefined error)
What I'm finding strange is that on the CENTRAL-RTR router, the configs are being backed up even though I'm getting the 'undefined error'. Why doesn't the CORT-RTR want to back up it's config?
