No Graphs
Hi,
Going through a new installation on Server 2008 R2, not getting any graphs to populate... I think its an RRD configuration issue.
using:
64 BIT net-snmp v5.5.0
ActiveState Perl 5.8.8 build 822
cacti 0.8.8b
php 5.4.20
IIS 7
MySQL 5.6.13.1
rrdtool 1.2.10
Please assist
Thank you -

Re: No Graphs
Graph debug output shows what error?
any errors in cacti.log?
any errors in cacti.log?

Re: No Graphs
I've had that issue, and it got solved by replacing rrdtool, for RRDtool 1.2.30 Copyright 1997-2008
Lost a lot of time with that. Try this version.

Re: No Graphs
Good Suggestion, and thanks for getting back to me --
I have downloaded the 1.2.30 version, but now when trying to install I get the following errors for RRDTool
-----------------------
RRD module for activestate perl 5.8.x
-------------------------------------
The system cannot find the path specified.
ppm install failed: 404 File `D:\rrdtool\RRDs.ppd' does not exist
Press any key to continue . . .
---------------------------
So then I tried to install the ppd, but it says:
D:\>cd rrdtool\data\rrd2\rrdtool-1.2.30\bindings\perl-shared
D:\rrdtool\data\rrd2\rrdtool-1.2.30\bindings\perl-shared>ppm install RRDs.ppd
ppm install failed: The PPD does not provide code to install for this platform
D:\rrdtool\data\rrd2\rrdtool-1.2.30\bindings\perl-shared>
-------------------------------------
Im using Perl 5.8.8, so it shouldnt be having a platform issue..

No Errors in the log, just one host I tried to add for testing with a timeout issue.BSOD2600 wrote:Graph debug output shows what error?

Re: No Graphs
Don't bother with the Perl rrdtool version.
Give http://www.cacti.net/downloads/packages ... vc2008.rar a try. you'll need the visual studio C++ 2008 redist installed too. This one is included with the Windows Installer package.
A timeout for host '172.16.1.10' is a sign of the main problem... cacti cannot communicate with the device. time to investigate into why this occurs.

Re: No Graphs
The timeout occured due to invalid SNMP string, I will try the RRDtool you gave and get back to you.
Thanks
EDIT:
Still getting no graphs... I changed in settings RRD 1.2.x to 1.4.x to accommodate the new version...
I added one server to the graph tree, and it still doesnt create the graph. :/
Thanks

How would I check if its successful every 5 min? Should I be using spine, instead of cmd.php in settings?
Re: No Graphs
hmm, no "rrdtool says" in the graph output? If not, typically that's a sign of invalid NTFS permissions such that rrdtool.exe is never even launched.
I'd keep using cmd.php while getting things running. Spine can be fickle.
The windows task invokes poller.php every 5 minutes right?
Cacti logging level set to low or medium to see what is going on?

Re: No Graphs
NTFS are set to Everyone for the entire c:\Cacti and its child elements.
I just changed logging to medium from low,
Not sure on the poller.php, however i do see php-cgi.exe and wperl32 running as processes.
I know I have an active poller on MRTG running, and thats been working just fine.
MRTG is a seperate IIS site running on same host.
No other errors in cacti.log when set to medium.

Re: No Graphs
the IIS service account, launches, cmd.exe, which then launches rrdtool.exe... so you need to have the permissions granted on cmd.exe for this process to work. The NTFS permissions are documented in http://docs.cacti.net/.
You do have a windows task which runs poller.php every 5 min, right?

Re: No Graphs
Ill get back to you on that, works been super busy lately.
Re: No Graphs
So i verified all permissions on cmd, and services, they are set to everyone with domain admins added...
Not sure what the next step is,
Thanks
