cacti graph shows 1/10 of the interface traffic bps number

Post by pooq2013 »

I am setting up cacti graph for a Juniper MX480 interfaces traffic bps.

I found the host template for juniper MX960
http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=47377
http://docs.cacti.net/wiki:user:nica_dan

imported it, and it works fine to show the interface traffic bits/s in the graph.
But the number is 1/10 of the real value.

for example, when i snmpwalk to one of our 10gig interface and the value is shown as 1125851416 1.12G bps
But it's shown as 112M in the cacti graph.

I have checked the data templates(Juniper Interface Traffic), graph templates (Juniper Interface Traffic)
I didn't find any setting to cause this problem.

Any advices? Thanks in advance!

I should have a different issue than using 32 bit or 64 bit counters. I had 32 bit counter problem before. the line on the graph will be flat if it's past a certain value.

But this time it's different. All the interface traffic bps number has been divided by 10. like 100M bps was shown as 10 M bps.

i am going to debug to see what is going on.

paulgevers,
thank you very much! yes. that's my problem. the juniper graph template was not enabled with the setting of "turn bytes into bits"

I had to change the value of CDEF Function (A CDEF (math) function to apply to this item on the graph.)
of each Graph Template Items

I am needing assistance with my graph. Attached is images of the still graph and live view of the graph. Can anyone advice me on why the still graph doesn't show correctly? I am using the same template from the post above on a Juniper MX480

Thanks,
KT

If this is 1.x, I would sync your template. Also check the data source info debug mode.

Hi all,

Can somebody please share the Juniper template again. The one here ->https://docs.cacti.net/wiki:user:nica_dan is no longer accessible.
