Hi,
I have installed Cacti on a windows server. The graphs from my devices are
depicting intermittent breaks. I observed that the cacti poll throws an error
that "Poller is out of synct. poller interval is 300 secs with a maximum of
300 second scheduled task but 600 secs have passed since the last poll." I am
not well versed with php and cacti. Can anyone please guide me step by step in
layman terms about fixing this issue. Thank you very much.

Re: Cacti Poller Error
I have checked the poller.php file and the timeouts are properly set at 300 secs. Also, in the log files, there is no difference between the times the graph is plotted and the times it is not. The poller_output file does not transfer all the data some times. I have manually run and transferred but it is difficult to manually run all the time. So, if you think the issue is there, can you please guide me to resolve that.
Also, on some forums, I read that it may be because of 2 cron jobs. I checked my windows tasks. There is only one. Most of the forums I went through provide guidance for Unix based systems. So, that has also been a challenge.

Re: Cacti Poller Error
Ah, Last Run Statistics Time:298.7489.
Looks like you've exceeded the limits of the cmd.php poller and it cannot complete within 5 minutes. A few options.
1) tweak the poller settings (increase pollers, script servers, etc).
2) switch to spine.exe poller. you'll want to also tweak the settings. Big thread with settings for massive systems in http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6206
3) after spine is functional, look into utilizing the Boost plugin.
4) disable dozens of hosts, refresh the poller cache, and validate the poller completes within 5 minutes.
In general, custom scripts are the cause of slow poller times as they dont scale out well.

Re: Cacti Poller Error
I thought the same but have not come around to deploying spine as I was not sure. Thank you. Will use spine and update you.
