General win32 Installation Step that works ...

i am getting the next error:

Hi there,

I have installed the following, and religiously followed the install guide after printing the manual.

apache_2.0.51-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi
php-5.0.0-Win32.zip
rrdtool-1.0.40.x86distr.zip-5.8.zip
mysql-4.0.21-win.zip
net-snmp-5.1.2-1.win32.exe
cacti-cactid-0.8.6.zip
cacti-0.8.5a.zip

When I browse to "http://localhost/cacti/", I get the following error:

Fatal error: Class ADODB_Iterator contains 1 abstract methods and must therefore be declared abstract (Iterator::valid) in C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs\cacti\lib\adodb\adodb-iterator.inc.php on line 46

I wonder if Ian is able to suggest what the error is likely to be?

PS: The manual needs to have Cacti installed before MySQL, otherwise the create script cannot be found by mysqladmin.

JasonGarrett,

You are likely running PHP 5.x. Please insure the extension php_mysql.dll is NOT commented out in your php.ini file. Then follow the steps below. We had some issues with the initial release.

Please perform the following steps:

1) Upgrade to the latest pre-release of 0.8.6a at http://www.cacti.net/downloads
2) Insure that you are NOT running PHP 4.3.4. Recommend PHP 4.3.6+
3) Insure that your cron includes "php <webroot>/cacti/poller.php"
4) Download, build and install the latest pre-release of Cactid 0.8.6a at http://www.cacti.net/downloads
5) Download SH.EXE from the following post and place it in your c:\cactid directory. http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=4797&start=15
