Hola
I have a feature request.
Read this post to first understand my problem. If there is a better way to do this, I'm all for it;

This post also sounds like they want something pretty similar;

I would like to be able to have CDEFs be templated on a per graph basis.
And
I would like to be able to automatically generate a CDEF based upon a Data Source from an snmp or script indexed Data Query.
This would provide;
Greater customization to graphs based upon their template (continuation of the whole Use Per-Graph Value thing)
The ability to make a custom CDEF value from a data source itself, which can then be applied against another data source to provide the desired graph output.
I think I just made someone's life difficult...
Generate a CDEF value from a DS

Okay, see that if I make a new CDEF that I can add a CDEF Item Type of "Special Data Source", and that there is "CURRENT_DATA_SOURCE", but what I need is to source from ANOTHER Data Source, and be able to specify what that DS is.
I know what the DS name is in the Data Query xml file, and I could specify that DS name in the CDEF. Then I could specify that DS as a Custom String perhaps.
Creating a Special DS CDEF off of a specified DS would solve my problem completely. However, I think some other people were asking to be able to customize the CDEF on a per graph basis, which this doesn't help them for if they don't collect that CDEF as a DS.
