Windows installation w/ MSSQL Server

I would like to test running cacti and more specifically cacti supported on SQL Server for hosting its database. Its obvious I need the php extensions but haven't really seen any instances or mention of this configuration and was curios why or if anyone has ported the MySQL database to SQL Server and can share their experience.

Someone has worked on making it work with sqllite - http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=48177 Might give you some ideas.

I do know that far off in the future of Cacti, the db layer is planning on being abstracted so one can use a variety of databases. Far from providing an ETA on this however.
