plugin for creating external DS

i'm trying to create a plugin to help creating a lot's of external datasource and associated graph.
does it exist function to help me doing that (graph template exist, data template also) ?
in which table must i insert values ?

i want the computed memory utilization in percent,however i only get All Memory and Used Memory through SNMP.

when make a graph for utilization ,i could reached it by add a customed CDEF.

but when i use weathermap plugin, i just want to pick the utilizaion directly from the rrd files.

before that,i need to computed the result and put it in a rrd fils.

is that possible to do,as i am a fans of weathermap.
