eximstats - script build - amounts not displayed correctly

Post by zyeclone »

hi all - this is my first post here

i have found a script for exim - the script writes the outut to a file called "scan_exim_log.total -- to get the output which is the following:

frozen:xx queued:xx todeliver:xx kb:xx largest:xx nrin:xx nrout:xx spam:xx spamd:xx

where xx is the amount of messages -/ kb - kilobytes // largest - largest message in kilobytes

i would put the script into crontab ( running all 5 minutes ) like

crontab -e

*/5 * * * * perl /path/to/mail.pl

and from cacti i would use the command: cat /path/to/scan_exim_log.total

but i have absolutly no knowledge to build the templates ( with the new version of cacti // used to version Version 0.6.8 - but i did upgrade now )

- so i attach the script here and anyone who is willing to use it mayabe he/she likes to share his/her templates based on the attahed script

that would be great

thx

i did modify the script so now the output is send directly to shell/command line

perl email.pl
frozen:17 queued:372 todeliver:744 kb:63106491 largest:20971520 nrin:5152 nrout:5103 spam:500 spamd:0

i was able to create a graph but something is wrong

frozen:17 queued:38 todeliver:76 kb:58513250 largest:20971520 nrin:5824 nrout:6139 spam:565 spamd:0

my latest version of eximstats - amounts not showing correctly - anyone likes to contribute ??

attached the templates and the script

you have to modify ETC - EXIM and open(LOG - / directories in order to get it working inside email1.pl

Could you possibly post up the files from your working version. This is really great stuff and would be pretty usefull for monitoring my server. I would greately appreciate it.

Hi,

Would it be possible for you to share these files for the rest of us?

Many thanks

Hello,

I have Exim too and I modified this script to make it a little more friendly

I just add few variables and uses sudo to run the command in place of the cron) and corrected some titles

I surely will modify it in the future as my exim server will need to graph other items (such as mails by domains), I will post all my features here.

I cannot attach a file here (seems there's a bug) so here's the file
