I followed installation of Cacti,Nagios, NagiosPlugin, NPC (ndoutils 1.4b7.)
according to https://sites.google.com/site/ryanmelis ... -centos-63 walkthrough.
However Everything appears to be working , I can load cacti web interface and nagios web interface.
My question is Where to start? Do I start in Nagios adding hosts,hostgroups,services, etc via commandline then attempt to pull all that into cacti?
Do I start in cacti interface add everything here in web interface then somehow pull the data from cacti to nagios?
My goal is to monitor about 600 devices which are a combination of Mikrotik routers, Netgear managed switches, Windows Servers, etc.
I want to use nagios for up/down alerting and cacti for graphing anything from CPU usage, memory usage, and bandwidth passing on routers interfaces.
These may seem like amateur questions, but please as I've spent a ton of time google searching and don't find any help on this ,I either find a write up or documentation on nagios setup or cacti setup but nothing that helps me specifically.
