Nectar duplicate reports

Post by GlueGuy »

We have about 42 nectar reports. All was working as expected, when a few days ago we started getting duplicates on "some" of our reports.

They were originally all scheduled to run at 1AM, and I was noticing the time spreading out between the first and last.

So I started grouping them in batches of 10 or 12 every 10 minutes.

Now, I'm seeing that the ones scheduled for 1AM, are all actually running starting at 1:11 AM, and I'm getting two reports for each one (also two in the log file, with nearly identical timestamps).

The reports running at 1:10, 1:20 and 1:30 are not getting duplicates.

Nectar is 0.35a
Cacti is 0.8.8a
System is CentOS 5.9 (Linux 2.6.18-348.3.1.el5 on x86_64)

Any clues as to what is going on?

Nectar allows for plugin specific tracing. This can be set under "Settings". You'll find output in cacti.log, then. This should help getting an idea what's going on. Traces are flagged with NECTAR.

As it happens, I "fixed" this by going back to the original 10 reports (or so) that had been scheduled for 1 AM, and changed their time to "something else".

After that, they only ran once instead of twice.

What is "fallged"?
