[solved] SNMP Error, No Graph
Hi,
I'm currently a beginner at cacti and installed cacti 0.8.8a on Windows 8 x64
I've read a post of how to make a graph here :
http://docs.cacti.net/manual:087:2_basi ... irst_graph
But then after I made my device :
Host Template : ucd/net SNMP Host
Downed Device Detection : SNMP Uptime
SNMP Version : Version 2
Whereas "SNMP - Interface Statistics" is --> Success [10 Items, 8 Rows]
So is "ucd/net - Get Monitored Partitions" is --> Success [3 Items, 3 Rows]
But it's still saying "SNMP Error"
Then I make a graph out of it, and this is all I got.
Thanks in advance.

Re: SNMP Error, No Graph
1) snmp error means cacti cannot communicate with the device, so none of the graphs will work until that is resolved.

Re: SNMP Error, No Graph
Hi Joachim,
There are numerous advantages and disadvantages of why to use a Linux or Windows based system for Cacti. There may be business reasons as well as the lack of skills ( no Linux skills available ) that may prevent users to use a Linux based system.

Re: SNMP Error, No Graph
okay, thanks for replying, but I have another one with no snmp error
but still no graph.
I'm pretty sure I'm using the GigabitEthernet 9 and 10. So this really confuse me for a week already. So I'm using debug mode in graph management and this is it :
it seems I have a problem with my rrdtools but I don't know how to fix it :/
and sorry for my uncompleted first post, this is the softwares I'm using :
Operating System: Windows 8
Webserver: Apache
Cacti: 0-8.8a
Spine: 0-8.8a
MySQL: 5.5.27
PHP: 5.3.24 - Win32
RRDTool (Cygwin or Win32 build): rrdtool 1.4.7
Net-SNMP: net-snmp-5.6.1.1-1.x86
Plugin Architecture: cacti-plugin-0.8.7g-PA-v2.8
Hoping for your further help
but still no graph.

Re: SNMP Error, No Graph
actually, I might've fixed already for no such files in directory by going to setting and ticking "Structured RRA Path" in Paths Tab. But now this is the error report, sir. I don't know if it's an improvement or... degradation OTL
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: SNMP Error, No Graph
You're using XMAPP, which means you did not follow the installation guide... and thus the components Cacti relies on are likely not configured properly. Please validate php and mysql are configured per the windows guide in http://docs.cacti.net/.
Did you follow the debugging guide yet?

Re: SNMP Error, No Graph
thanks BSOD-san for your suggestion. Now I follow the installation guide, actually the all in one installer for Windows in your signature. I've uninstalled all PHP, MySQL, etc and install the all in one installer.
But I got the same result as this one :
and it can't change now no matter what I do. what should I do now? why does my rrdtool isn't creating any .rrd files? I read http://docs.cacti.net/manual:087:4_help ... #debugging but didn't found a way to do any debugging in windows. I'm very sorry for this inconvenience. Please help, thanks.

Re: SNMP Error, No Graph
The debugging concepts are the same on Windows as it is for Linux. Which step in the debugging guide did you have problems with following?

Re: SNMP Error, No Graph
I found my poller cache is doing just fine :
but I found nothing created in any of those folders, there's just a file '.htaccess' in folder 'rra'. So I feel suspicious for spine I'm using and rrdtool, then I want to check the cacti poller side of debugging from :
- ./spine --verbosity=5 <id> <id>
- chown cactiuser:cactiuser *.rrd
I tried from my cmd.exe by admin right but well, not working (lol)
Thanks for advance.

Re: SNMP Error, No Graph
wait wait wait wait. It's working! I don't know but after changing back to cmd.php it's all working just fine and showing the graph properly.
Thank you, thank you very much for your help, BSOD-san. I appreciate your help very much.
