Fluctuating HDD temp graphs

Post by Tokay »

Hi,

This is the graph, showing the HDD temperatures fluctuating. I haven't seen a lot of hdd temp graphs (tried searching for some), and I'm simply wondering if this is normal behaviour.
Or if mabye readouts are wrong. I'm using a script calling the hddtemp program (found in Debian, and other distributions I'm sure).

Thanks in advance!

Do you have some daily graphs? My weekly are getting interpolated enough to look like yours.. but the variations are over shorter periods of time.

Here ya go...

I'm taking my temp readings from MBM5 CSV file, which updates every 2.5 minutes.

Thanks. A wee bit difficult to compare celsius and fahrenheit, but still.. some variation looks normal.
But I still think my graphs look a bit weird.. the disks have sufficient cooling, so it really shouldn't be any problems.. but smooth graphs looks better in this situation. :)
