I've been trying to get Weathermaps working with Cacti for a few days now and have been unable to get Cacti to show the maps in the weathermap plugin. It looks like everything else is working. I can create and edit the map (test.conf) in the editor.
I've given the www user, apache, full control of both output and configs.
For the directories:
drwxrwxrwx. 2 apache apache 4096 Apr 1 10:00 output
drwxrwxrwx. 2 apache apache 4096 Apr 1 09:50 configs
For the file:
-rwxrwxrwx 1 apache apache 4022 Apr 1 09:48 test.conf
The output directory has index.php and dummy-file.delete-me in it.
The configs directory has index.php, simple.conf, and test.conf in it.
The cacti user has permissions to Plugin -> Weathermap: Configure/Manage and Plugin -> Weathermap: View
The Weathermap tab, always says "You Have No Maps".
I don't see anything that jumps out at me from the DEBUG logs:
04/01/2013 10:09:02 AM - WEATHERMAP: Poller[0] STATS: Weathermap 0.97a run complete - Mon, 01 Apr 13 10:09:02 -0500: 0 maps were run in 0 seconds with 0 warnings.

In mysql, when I run 'Show Tables', I do see weathermap_auth, weathermap_data, weathermap_groups, weathermap_maps, and weathermaps_settings. All are empty except for weathermap_groups which has the single entry Weathermaps.
I've tried disabling and reenabling the plugin and also uninstalling the plugin and reinstalling it.
I've tried running php weathermap-cacti-rebuild.php and it was successful with no errors. It said 0 maps were run.
I'm not sure what else to try now. Do you have any suggestions or ideas? And, if you do have suggestions, know that I'm not great with linux and am having to look a lot of the commands up as I go.
Thanks,
Luke
PS: I guess it helps to include the versions. Cacti 0.8.8a, Weathermap 0.97a

Re: Can't see maps with Cacti plugin
Two things:
Most important, did you add the map you created to the Manage Weathermap screen in Cacti? That is the list of maps that are "run" every poller cycle. "Iterated All 0 Maps" makes me think that you haven't done that.
Second: the output directory should be owned by the user that runs the cacti poller. It's the poller that actually creates the map image files. You should get a warning in the log file if it was incorrect, and you had added a map though.

Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

Re: Can't see maps with Cacti plugin
I'm guessing I haven't done this as I don't even know where that is. lol I'm assuming it should be under Management or the Weathermap tab. I can find nothing in either to add a map. Here's what I see under each.Howie wrote:Most important, did you add the map you created to the Manage Weathermap screen in Cacti? That is the list of maps that are "run" every poller cycle. Re: Can't see maps with Cacti plugin
Scratch that last post. I found the Weathermap Management link. I kept overlooking it thinking it was part of the PHP Weathermap version 0.97a link. Now it's looking good. Thank you for the help.

Re: Can't see maps with Cacti plugin
There should be a link under Manage... on the side menu, along with Graphs, Data Sources etc.
However, you seem to be running some unusual version of Cacti (it looks totally different to the regular version) - what version is it?
