Weathermaps not reporting properly.

Post by jmwhitesr31 »

I have figured out the issue from my still learning Cacti post now I get a new error. It is saying the file is not reporting data. I have attached the errors below.
04/02/2013 11:07:30 AM - WEATHERMAP: Poller[0] WARNING: [Map 2] WAN Connectivity.conf: ReadData: NODE KansascitynorthLatency, target: gauge:C:/Cacti/Apache2/htdocs/cacti/rra/609/33018.rrd:avg:- on config line 126 of C:\Cacti\Apache2\htdocs\cacti\plugins\weathermap\configs\WAN Connectivity.conf had no valid data, according to WeatherMapDataSource_rrd

On line 126 of your config file, you have:

TARGET gauge:C:/Cacti/Apache2/htdocs/cacti/rra/609/33018.rrd:avg:-

Code: Select all

[Map 2] WAN Connectivity.conf: RRD ReadData: At least one of your DS names (avg and -) were not found, even though there was a valid data line. Maybe they are wrong? Valid DS names in this file are: traffic_in,traffic_out, [WMRRD06]
But the rrd file you are referring to doesn't have a data source inside it called 'avg'.

It has one called 'traffic_in' and one called 'traffic_out'.

So you need to change your TARGET to either:

TARGET gauge:C:/Cacti/Apache2/htdocs/cacti/rra/609/33018.rrd:traffic_in:-

or

TARGET gauge:C:/Cacti/Apache2/htdocs/cacti/rra/609/33018.rrd:traffic_out:-

Depending on which of those values you want to appear in the map.

If it's a link, then you probably actually want both:

TARGET gauge:C:/Cacti/Apache2/htdocs/cacti/rra/609/33018.rrd:traffic_in:traffic_out

and good news, the default DS names are traffic_in and traffic_out (because that's what most Cacti traffic graphs use), so you can change that to:

TARGET gauge:C:/Cacti/Apache2/htdocs/cacti/rra/609/33018.rrd

Finally, if it IS the standard Cacti traffic graph template that you are using, you shouldn't use the gauge: prefix, otherwise your results will be 1/8 of the correct value (gauge disables the default behaviour of turning byte-counters into bits-per-second by multiplying by 8) :

TARGET C:/Cacti/Apache2/htdocs/cacti/rra/609/33018.rrd
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)
