Network adapter not displaying correctly.

A wealth of information here so thank you to everyone for that.

I've followed the instructions for changing my network graphs to display properly when changing between a 100Mb port and 1000Mb port. The graphs have changed and are displaying but they do not appear to be calculating correctly when displaying. In fact they almost appear to cut in half. Before I made the change my usage was a fairly flat average and now it's half of that.

Even more confusing is when I have my DC send me their MRTG of the switch it appears my port is even more active than my adapter.

How can I get guaranteed graphs of traffic actually moving past my ethernet adapter?
