Unable to view graphs, no RRD files being created

I've been trying to get cacti working for a few days now. I've installed it on Fedora 18 and have followed as many debugging steps as I could find in this forum and the documentation.

I've added a device and created graphs. The device shows as up and there is clearly data being gathered when I do a verbose query on the device.

The poller is running every 5 minutes as shown in the cron log:

SELINUX has been set to permissive

The /rra directory is empty

I've tried both SPINE and CMD.PHP

The default 'localhost' graphs are also not created

I've made some progress. I figured out that (per the installation instructions) my entry in the crontab was running as cactiuser, but the scripts it was trying to run were owned by root. When I changed the ownership of:

/etc/cacti/db.php
/usr/share/cacti/poller.php
/usr/share/cacti/include/global.php

to cactiuser, then I can now see red files being created and some graphs appear.

This appears to have fixed the issue, although I don't see much indication of traffic in the graphs. Likely I need to wait a while before the graphs have anything to display.
