rrd file not generated

Hi all,

My rrd file is not getting generated.
There are no errors in poller log.
Device status is up.
rra folder has all necessary permissions

but still rrd file is not generated.

cacti-0.8.7f-1.fc13.noarch
is the latest version on fedora.
I have installed snmp as well

As lomg as no valid data is returned, we won't create any rrd file. So basic question is: why don't we get valid data
