Broken Template in DB - Repair advice

Post by GlueGuy »

Hi,

When I tried to export a host template, I got the following error:
Error: Data Template Includes Deleted Round Robin Archive. Please run Database Repair Script to Identify and/or Correct.
So I ran the database repair script, which indicated that all the DB tables were fine until the very end when it displayed:
NOTE: Checking for Invalid Cacti Templates
NOTE: 167 Invalid Data Template Data RRA Rows Found in Database

WARNING: Serious Cacti Template Problems found in your Database. Using the '--force' option will remove
the invalid records. However, these changes can be catastrophic to existing data sources. Therefore, you
should contact your support organization prior to proceeding with that repair.
Now what? I'm a bit hesitant to just run the --force, but if I must, I will. What sort of problems should I be looking for if this falls on its face?

I've never run into such a situation. In can check results only in case you send me a compressed db dump of your Cacti db (use Email address, please)

More information for other people who find this error. It is caused by deleting an RRA which is referenced by a data template or data sources. This might happen if you've added and removed RRAs in the past.

I ran "/var/www/cacti/cli/repair_database.php --force" on three different Cacti instances. So far all are still collecting data correctly.
