Problem with Aggregation Plugin

Post by buddinski »

Not sure if this is the right area or not, so please move me if necessary.

I am using Aggregate to give a broader overview of how some of our devices are performing.

Foreword: I know that this may not be the most elegant thing ever but it works how I want.

I am using Aggregate to stack about all of the interfaces from my 6509 (this is about 500ish interfaces).

When I go to look at the graph, it shows in thumbnail view, but I get the broken image when I try to view it.

When I go to Graph Debug mode, the RRDTOOL command output shows but it states "RRDTOOL SAYS:" at the end.

No errors, no OK, no nothing.

When I manually run the RRDTOOL command (by copying the debug command output), it generates the graph just fine.

This is a weird one, any help would be greatly appreciated!

How long does graph creation take, when running manually? When running from cacti, does the error pop up instantaneously?

If I use the thumbnail view on the page the graphs do work correctly (they take a second or two to display.

When I go to full view of the graph, it takes a second or two before the broken links show up.

When running the RRDTOOL command from the command line, the graph is created almost instantly.

Also there is no error (aside from the broken image showing up). When running the graph in debug mode the section where it would normally say "RRDTOOL Says: X" it says "RRDTOOL Says:" (there is no text following it).

I'm wondering if maybe this is a PHP/MySQL that I need to tweak to allow bigger queries or to allow longer load times?

Excuse my French- but a shitload.

The RRDTOOL command is huge. Like several hundred lines huge. Like if I wanted to get you an accurate number I'd have to copy it to a file then run it through wc.

I'm at home now, so I don't have it in front of me, but it is rather large.

If you need exact numbers I can put those in here on Monday.

Thank you for the help- you guys have an awesome product.

I ask, because some OS restrict command line length to a number that may be too low for such a huge rrdtool command. Neither rrdtool nor Cacti are known to have such a limit. But it's a guess only

Yeah, like I said, when I run the RRDTOOL command from the command line and pipe it to a file it works just fine.

Find one of my worse examples attached.

Then, my assumption fails. But as you said, thumbnail works. This should use the same command, only GPRINTs are missing. I see that I should review how we pipe commands to rrdtool ...
