SNMP based template for memory / swap usage on a Unix host
Moderators: Developers, Moderators
Hello world (the first message on this board, I guess).
Was happen also to my installation the CDEF was incorrect and I needed to adjuct the definition, as suggested by phalek.
My installation is 0.8.7e, installed from fresh. Maybe it's need to export the template I have for avoid the same error to someone?

Re: SNMP based template for memory / swap usage on a Unix ho
Hello!
I have imported the template, but I only have the "Localhost - Memory - Free" data template:
<path_rra>/localhost_mem_buffers_3.rrd
Is there any patch for the other fields?

Re: SNMP based template for memory / swap usage on a Unix ho
All is nice but it will very nice if we can add memory usage with percentage.
Re: SNMP based template for memory / swap usage on a Unix ho
I added percentage to the graph by creating my own CDEF. I used the Memory Used (Linux) CDEF.
I called it "Percentage Memory Used (Linux)
cdef=d,c,-,b,-,a,-,1024,*,d,/,10,/
Item #1......Another CDEF: Memory Used (Linux)
Item #2......Custom String: d
Item #3......Operator: /
Item #4......Custom String: 10
Item #5......Operator: /
*****************************
It doesn't get graphed but it shows up in the list of values..
My ONLY problem is trying to create a THOLD against the percentage. Anyone?

Re: SNMP based template for memory / swap usage on a Unix ho
Excellent template. Used in cacti 0.8.8.a with some minor correction suggested by phalek.
CDEF:cdefa=d,c,-,b,-,a,-,1024,* \
CDEF:cdefa=d,c,-,b,-,a,-,1024,* \
Re: SNMP based template for memory / swap usage on a Unix ho
Seems to be quite good template. However I seem to be getting only buffer and free working. Any idea how come the others are either 0 or "nan"?
Re: SNMP based template for memory / swap usage on a Unix ho
Hey guys!
the memory template works fine on hosts with a total of up to 16GB RAM (I guess).
But I have 3 Linux Hosts and each of them has 256GB RAM.
the template isn't capable to get the total, used and cached values.
It's just -nan
is there a solution?
PS: My CDEFs are CDEF:cdefa=d,c,-,b,-,a,-,1024,* \
