Nice going :) .

However I'm curious as to this statement;
If you wish to call programs or scripts external in Cacti (as described here ), you must install Cygwin .
I thought that installing Cygwin was no longer required for Cacti to be able to do this?

Brashquido,

There are minor issues with scripts (i.e. They don't run). Instead of reverse engineering cygwin, it's easier to just install it.

Really? I didn't know that.

Could this have any bearing on my scripting issue where cacti is striping out all backslashes, and replacing some (seemingly random) with forward slashes?

I tried to install some scripts or programs (like my own ping program), but without cygwin, I've never succeed (with slashes, with backslashes, with a candle at the church... :lol: ).

With Cygwin properly installed, each script works fine.

And sometimes, Unix commands are very useful on windows system.
