Hello,
Do you see interesting to create a new topic for upgrades from CactiEZ 0.6 to 0.7?
I am trying with your recommendations in this forum and does not work on 0.7, and may be others are having the same problem.
Thanks

Hello Sirs,
I have seen somethigs that could be interesting to have:
- All the files in /var/www/html/scripts are missing from version 0.6 of CactiEZ
- Unix Ping Latency is also missing from version 0.6 of CactiEZ
- Could be interesting to have preloaded in next releases the Cisco IP SLA or SAA (http://forums.cacti.net/about19542.html)
- An intersting plugin is GPSMap, very funny for bosses :-)
- Also an interesting plugun is RouterConfigs

Also, I am having the following problems, at least by now:
- Not able to make TFTP works on CactiEZ 0.7. Seems to be everything ok but "netstat -nap" does not show the port opened.
- Not able to make Cisco IP SLA work

Thanks all for your great job and help

When i try to download the iso cd image for CactiEZ 0.7, the torrent link gives me CactiEZ-v0.7.torrent, and the http link gives me CactiEZ-v0.7.tar.gz

I'm looking for an iso so i can install it in vmware. Is this available?

Hello,
Try use the torrent file. Load it in any Torrent Downloades like lPhant and you will get and ISO image that will install you a full Linux with Cacti, also in VMWare.
Hope this helps.

I did a fresh install and found that the username and password was not correct for cactiuser.

I updated the permissions and made sure cactiuser has all permissions in mysql but I cant seem to get past this error.

Warning: mysqli_real_connect(): (28000/1045): Access denied for user 'cactiuser'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /var/www/html/lib/adodb/drivers/adodb-mysqli.inc.php on line 83 Can not connect

Thanks

Jimmy, good job!

Got one of my team from nowt to up and running in less than an afternoon....

Despite having SCOM and Solarwinds, Cacti is just easier to get info out of!

Cheers

Question - and possible answer re: MSSQL monitoring...

I've tried to follow the guide here: http://docs.cacti.net/usertemplate:host ... :sqlserver

but I can't get this: "yum install php-mssql" to run correctly - I get this:

Code: Select all

Last login: Wed Feb 13 15:18:39 2013
[root@localhost ~]# yum install php-mssql
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
 * base: mirrors.manchester.icecolo.com
 * extras: mirrors.coreix.net
 * updates: mirrors.coreix.net
Setting up Install Process
No package php-mssql available.
Error: Nothing to do
Which is odd, now I found a tutorial on how to resolve this on Centos 6 over here: http://thebitstream.co.uk/helpful-stuff ... n-centos-6

Which I am about to follow - will post back here if it works.

Hi Guys,

I cannot get the Nagios install that comes with Cacti EZ up and running.

I am getting the error as follows.

Code: Select all

Whoops!

Error: Could not read object configuration data!

Here are some things you should check in order to resolve this error:

Verify configuration options using the -v command-line option to check for errors.
Check the Nagios log file for messages relating to startup or status data errors.
Make sure you read the documentation on installing, configuring and running Nagios thoroughly before continuing. If all else fails, try sending a message to one of the mailing lists. More information can be found at http://www.nagios.org.
Has anyone seen this or does anyone know how to resolve this?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Love the new CactiEZ. Thanks so much for the time spent and dedication applied for the CactiEZ package and Cacti development itself. I've been using Cacti starting on Windows for about 5 years now.

We are now using CactiEZ (moved from Windows 2k3 with standalone Cacti) in a virtual machine as our only production graphing/trending software, and including up/down status monitoring. We are monitoring a smorgasbord full of different types of devices and our NOC is in and out of Cacti throughout the entire work day.

Thanks again.
