cacti poller snmp error

Post by shpapy »

hello,
I get the following error in the log file.
01/16/2013 12:09:23 PM - CACTID: Poller[0] Host[147] ERROR: SNMP Version Error for Host

but I don't use SNMP for this host at all.
what could be the problem?
I run Version 0.8.8a.
thanks!

I run Version 0.8.8a.
Those two items do not match. CACTID is the OOOOLD poller; it will NOT work with Cacti 0.8.8a. Please compile spine 0.8.8.a for use with the current Cacti version

This is the log line you've posted first. So I assumed that you were running cactid instead of spine

Please see "System Utilities -> View Poller Cache" and filter for that host. Post, what you find, then

There's no second entry for "Unix - Ping Latency"?

Debugging this one, now.
Do you receive an additional warning of type "WARNING: sockets support not enabled in PHP, falling back to SNMP ping"?
