0.8.8a - Nectar Graph - Inline Image not showing

I have configured Nectar with the appropriate graph items, selected Inline PNG and verified the preview which shows the graph.

But in the email which is sent the inline image is shown as blank (with a cross). There is an attachment which does have the graph and which opens correctly in the browser.

I have tried the following unsuccessfully..

1) Changing the image format to JPG or GIF
2) Selecting the option to link back to the server

What else should I check for troubleshooting this?
