Graph titles

Post by msturtz »

Hi,

Using a default install of 0.8.8a on CentOS, and monitoring a Brocade ICX6610. I really want all the graphs to show the "port-name" from the switch, but I want Cacti to automatically pick that up. To the best of my knowledge, I've done the following since installation:

* Configured the device. In the device, removed associated data query (SNMP Interface Stats), and re-applied with the re-index method of Verify All Fiends. I hoped this would make it pick up the interface names.
* Edited the data template for "Interface - Traffic". Under Name, un-checked use per-data source value, and used ifAlias instead of ifName. Saved.
* Created a graph of exactly one interface. Went to Devices, selected the switch, and then Create Graphs. Selected one interface, and Create.
* Went to Graph Managemnet, and I can see the graph is there -- but instead of "Brocade - Traffic - CactiServer" as I expected, it says "Brocade - Traffic - ethernet1/1/2". Clicking on it, I get a broken graph, until the poller runs at least once -- this seems like its probably OK.

Now here's the odd part...

* Go into Data Sources, and select the one data source for this graph. From here, without making any changes, click Save. Then click Edit Graph Template. Again, click Save without making any changes. Now go back to Graph Management -- the graph has the correct name, "Brocade - Traffic - CactiServer".

I'm assuming that the act of saving either the template or the graph is updating that title string. Any way I can make that happen automatically?
