What is happening is that the table get's so large that it is not returning from the initial query in a timely manor or php is running out of memory trying to return all the rows. I lean towards the latter. We will evaluate re-indexing the table and/or moving to INODB in the future to speed performance.

It has been caused in the past by people running unpatched versions of Cacti 0.8.6b. Cacti 0.8.6c resolved the problem.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?
