Post by oneDot »

Hi all!

Some of the rrd files in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\cacti\rra are not updating

Any suggestion to help solve this problem will be more than appreciated.

Re: Some RRD files are unsuccessful updating

I realized that rrd updating failed after data and graph template change (Devices - Data Source List - Choose an Action:Change Data Template).

So what i have done?

Data Template
- duplicate default Data Template Interface - Traffic
- rename duplicated template to Interafce - Traffic TMP
- uncheck Use Per-Data Source Value (Ignore this Value) under Data Source Name in template Interafce - Traffic TMP
- change Data Template for selected Data Sources from Interface - Traffic to Interafce - Traffic TMP
- reload Data Query for selected device (Associated Data Querie SNMP - Interface Statistics)
- Reaply Suggested Names for selected Data Sources
- change Data Template for selected Data Sources back from Interface - Traffic TMP to Interafce - Traffic

Graph Template- duplicate default Graph Template Interface - Traffic (bits/sec)
- rename duplicated template to Interface - Traffic (bits/sec) TMP
- uncheck Use Per-Graph Value (Ignore this Value) under Graph Template Title in template Interface - Traffic (bits/sec) TMP
- change Graph Template for selected Graphs from Interface - Traffic (bits/sec) to Interface - Traffic (bits/sec) TMP
- reload Data Query for selected device (Associated Data Querie SNMP - Interface Statistics)
- Reaply Suggested Names for selected Graphs
- change Graph Template for selected Graphs back from Interface - Traffic (bits/sec) TMP to Interface - Traffic (bits/sec)

Probably best to just get a fresh version of the templates from a separate cacti install.

I find out that problem was in wrong data template definition. I fixed it and now works as expected.

tnx for a tip!
